Grounding is one of Brinas Studio’s signature, in-studio-developed recipes. The base color of the fabric stays unchanged. The pattern is created with rust—the world’s oldest textile color, one that will never fade or wash out.
This is a custom-dyeing service, where you send in your own fabric. If you’d like, we can also advise you and source fabric from our curated selection of organic materials, including a wide range of cotton, linen, Tencel, bamboo and more.

From fabric to story
This fabric will become a canvas, ready to be transformed into something truly special. Imagine a custom dress for a meaningful occasion, rich with natural hues and depth. How it works
Send your fabric – Once you’ve placed the order send the fabric to our studio address: Brinas Studio, Mariborska cesta 1, 2360 Radlje ob Dravi, Slovenia (Please use a shipping option with tracking, as we cannot take responsibility for undelivered packages).
Dyeing process – We’ll hand-dye each piece individually using my natural color formula, embracing the variations and organic beauty that come with plant-based pigments.
Processing time – Custom dyeing typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the material and current studio schedule.
If you don’t have fabric, we can source it for you from our library of organic textiles—simply reach out before purchasing.
What can you send in
Natural colors can only dye natural fiber. It’s best if your selected fabric is made of at least 90% of natural fiber (cotton, linen, viscose, etc.).
We do not accept silk or wool by default, as they are delicate and require specific processing conditions. If you have a special request, please reach out to discuss possibilities.
The fabric must be white or light-colored and untreated (free from synthetic finishes, starch, or coatings).
There is no need to pre-wash your fabric, as this is part of our preparation process. However, if you’re sending in old or vintage fabric, please ensure it’s in good condition and wash it if necessary.
A few important notes
The beauty of natural dyes lies in their unpredictability—no two pieces are exactly alike. Your fabric will reflect the essence of the color shown but will have its own unique variations. The base tone may shift slightly depending on the fabric, and each piece will develop its own organic pattern, making it truly one of a kind.
