ABOUT
Why do we change all our clothes in colder months, but not our underwear? These thermo undies are designed to keep your most intimate parts warm, healty and snug. Let Ember undies embrace your body and heart, providing the warmth you need to enjoy the slower, cozier months ahead. Let them evoke your inner, fiery essence.
PRODUCTION PROCESS
Our thermo undies aren’t cheap. Not in price, nor in quality. We’re investing in the best fibers, produced sustainably, hand-dye each piece with plant dyes, and have them be sewn locally in Slovenia. This way we can reduce the impact on the environment, contribute to your intimate health and ensure everyone in the production process is fairly paid. We believe that matters.
ABOUT THE FABRIC
This fabric is made of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers. Tencel terry knit is known for excellent absorbency, softness, and comfort. The distinctive feature of terry cloth is its looped pile, which consists of uncut loops of yarn on one or both sides of the fabric. These loops create a soft and absorbent texture. The loops in terry cloth contribute to its soft and plush feel, providing comfort and a luxurious touch. Despite its absorbent nature, terry cloth is breathable, allowing air circulation. The looped pile structure of terry cloth also provides extra warmth and coziness. Fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® (product class 2). It is designed in Denmark, and manufactured in Turkey.
UNIQUENESS NOTE
Every piece is hand-dyed and unique. Some shades will depend on the dye bath. Some are hard to catch on the camera so they might look a bit different in reality. You might notice small variations or “imperfections” from the dyeing process—we hope you get to see them as your piece’s unique marks.
SIZES
Tencel terry fabric is warmer and thicker and therefore a bit less stretchy. Size us if you’re in doubt. Size chart will be uploaded in a few days ;)
ORDERING & RETURNS
After the preorder call we’ll gather orders in monthly batches, so please allow us a production time of 2-5 weeks to complete your order, though we strive to deliver it sooner. For hygiene reasons, we do not accept returns on underwear.
FABRIC PREP
Fabric prep is an important step in the natural dyeing process. We use non-toxic mineral salts to fix the dye onto fabric. Because undies come in direct contact with your mucous membrane we wanted to make them extra safe so instead of these mineral salts we decided to use tanin-rich dyebaths. Tanin works as a fixative too. The color of undies might fade a bit faster than if we used mineral salts, so we might need to share some tips on how to overdye them at home ;)
CARE
Natural colors are “living” colors and like all natural change and fade with time. To ensure lasting color wash cold (at 30 degrees) with a pH neutral detergent. Wash with similar colors, the first time separately. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure. Read more on how to take care of naturally dyed pieces.
PACKAGING
Every Brinas Studio product comes with a plant-hand-painted product card and is packaged using recycled and/or biodegradable materials. Undies come packed in a tiny fabric bag, which you can conveniently use when your packing your underwear or socks for a trip.
FEEDBACK
These are our first two models of undies. The first prototypes were made over 2 years ago and tested since. Still we’d like to hear back from you how you like wearing them, any ideas for future models or fabric choices. Send us an email on hello@brinas.studio (in Slovene or English).
